The Tennessee Vols are reportedly the leader for a four-star recruit from the South Carolina Gamecocks' back yard.

2025 four-star cornerback Onis Konanbanny, who was in Knoxville for an unofficial visit this past weekend, told On3 this week that Tennessee is the leader in his recruitment.

Konanbanny, 6-foot-1/180 lbs from Columbia, SC, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 4 player in the state of South Carolina and the No. 28 cornerback in the nation.

Florida State, North Carolina, Penn State, and LSU are also in the mix for the four-star recruit.

"It wasn't about recruiting, just having fun, seeing and enjoying life with the coaches, and just being normal," said Konanbanny to Rivals.com of his visit to Tennessee this past weekend. "No recruiting talk at all, which was great."

"It's just like being in a family over there," added Konanbanny. "Everyone in my family and around me saw it. They're big on family over there."

Konanbanny, who is originally from France, moved to the United States in 2022. He initially played high school football at Rabun-Gap Nacoochee before transferring to Heathwood Hall Episcopal.

While Konanbanny may not be a Columbia native, he's still a player that resides in South Carolina's backyard. And the Gamecocks, for now, don't appear to be a major threat to land the talented cornerback.

Konanbanny will return to Tennessee for an official visit on June 21. He also has upcoming official visits scheduled to Florida State, North Carolina, and Penn State.

The Vols have 10 players committed to its 2025 recruiting class, which is currently ranked No. 14 in the nation.
