The LSU Tigers are one of several programs in the mix for 2025 four-star defensive lineman Andrew Maddox.

Maddox, 6-foot-3/265 lbs from Hattiesburg, MS, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 22 defensive lineman in the nation and the No. 7 player in the state of Mississippi.

Arkansas, Ohio State, and Ole Miss, among others, are also in the mix for Maddox.

One of the biggest reasons why LSU is a contender for the four-star recruit is because of Tigers defensive line coach Bo Davis.

"I enjoy Coach Bo, he's a great DL coach who has produced a lot of great players and grown a lot of players into men," said Maddox to Rivals.com this week. "He develops them…Coach Bo is a special coach. We have a great relationship and we get along well and talk often. LSU has a great environment. Death Valley on game day gets turnt. I've enjoyed going to games and seeing the environment, it's loud and there's yelling and supporting. It's ride or die."

Davis, who played at LSU from 1990-1992, spent the last three seasons as the Texas Longhorns' defensive line coach.

LSU head coach Brian Kelly hired Davis earlier this offseason after moving on from defensive line coach Jimmy Lindsey, who spent just one season with the Tigers.

Davis has been part of three national championship winning coaching staffs, including at LSU in 2003 (he was also at Alabama in 2009 and 2015).
