The Tennessee Titans' corps of wide receivers has some strong and intriguing names within it, but one of those that has not picked up as much steam as some initially expected him to is former Arkansas wideout Treylon Burks.
Fellow pass-catcher Calvin Ridley recently sent a wealth of praise to the entire position group, but also took the time to hype up Burks specifically and provide some personal insight into what he's seen out of him.
Based on Ridley's comments, there's plenty of reason for optimism to surround Burks. And one of the names he used in his description is a player many Titans fans may be triggered by, considering it's pretty evident now that it was never in team's best interest to part ways with him.
That's A.J. Brown. Julio Jones may also bring some memories to mind within the list that Ridley gave.
"Sick, stud man," Ridley said. "This dude is a freak. Like, seriously bro, he's going to be a stud. There's no word. In what I see, he's like Julio (Jones), A.J. Brown, he's like T.O. But a dude that big, that fast… he's just got to learn. Slow the game down. It's gonna be alright."
Burks, who has suffered some injury setbacks early on that have prevented him from reaching his ceiling, also recently spoke with reporters on his expectations for the season.
He's got good company, learning under the likes of Ridley, DeAndre Hopkins and Tyler Boyd.
"Learning from three really good guys," Burks said. "They're all helping me, critiquing things I need to get better at, and they also ask for my feedback on things they need to get better at. So, it's like a well-rounded deal, everybody helping each other. It's all good."
Staying healthy and being able to play the full season will be of paramount importance for Burks — and it's something that he recognizes.
"For me, I just have to make sure I can stay healthy, and do whatever I need to do take care of my body. The main thing is to have fun, and that's what I've been doing."
He's staying positive throughout it all.
"I just give it to God, man," Burks said. "Not stressed about (the past), not worried about it … I'm where I am now with a positive attitude. Got a baby on the way. So, I couldn't be more happy."
