It seems like everybody nowadays wants to be a part of the Kansas City Chiefs' dynasty run in some capacity.
The latest is former Chiefs safety Husain Abdullah, who responded to a fan on X about his interest in returning to the team.
Abdullah played in Kansas City from 2013-2015 and was a steady contributor throughout those three years. 2014 was easily his best season, recording 71 total tackles and an interception as he took over the starting free safety job when Eric Berry stepped away with Hodgkin's lymphoma. His interception was a pick-six off of future Hall of fame quarterback Tom Brady.
Abdullah began his NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings in 2008. His time with the Vikings was plagued by concussions, suffering four over a 15-month span. After a total of five concussions throughout his career, Abdullah retired in 2016 to preserve his quality of life after football.
It's not clear how serious Abdullah actually is about obtaining a front office role with the Chiefs, but he's on record about how much he loved his time in K.C. and he likely has good relationships with many members of the Chiefs organization. He obviously knows the game of football well, and he also has a master's degree in conflict resolution.
