The Chicago Bears will be hosting HBO's Hard Knocks for the first time in franchise history during training camp with the first episode releasing on August 6th.
The multi-episode documentary series will follow the Bears throughout the final stages of the offseason and into the preseason, including the Hall of Fame game against the Houston Texans led by head coach DeMeco Ryans.
This is set to be a highly-viewed season of Hard Knocks with the Bears showing off their new-look team for the first time before the 2024 season kicks off. However, not everyone watches for the football. For those viewing to catch some great moments of television, here's five personalities on the team that will shine throughout the show.
1. QB Caleb Williams
You have to put the first overall pick at the top of the list. Not only will all the eyes be on quarterback Caleb Williams during Hard Knocks because he's the first overall pick and the team's new franchise signal-caller but also because he's perhaps the biggest sports media personality Chicago has seen in years.
Williams has an infectious personality and, as we all know, isn't afraid to let it shine. Seeing how he operates and handles himself leading up to his first NFL season will be inspiring to young athletes all over the world in today's day and age.
It'll also be intriguing to see how his high-profile persona meshes with the old-school mindset found inside of the Bears' locker room while he works to become a team leader. Overall, he will be by far the most interesting person on the show that will have the most eyes on his every action. And who can forget seeing the iconic "Bear Claw" get shown on TV that Williams has embodied since being drafted by the Bears?
2. WR DJ Moore
Don't let his quiet nature fool you. Wide receiver DJ Moore has one of the funniest personalities on the entire team and now has some acting experience under his belt before all of the television crew arrives in Chicago.
Moore was the star of the show during the Bears' 2024 schedule release video the social media team put out a few weeks back playing a knock-off Ferris Bueller.
His appearance in the skit was a hit and he always leaves the media room with laughter following his press conferences. The whole nation is about to fall in love with Moore's personality while, ideally, he'd like to keep flying under everyone's radar. We'll even get to see some more of his heated rivalry against linebacker T.J. Edwards.
3. CB Kyler Gordon
The man affectionately known as the Marvel superhero icon Spider-Man has lived up to the nickname on and off the field. Slot cornerback Kyler Gordon is always lively with energy before, during, and after games each and every week.
His insane athletic abilities allows him to live up to the nickname while also adding some Spider-Man aesthetics to his style. Many NFL players have donned the Spider-Man mask in the past but Gordon pulls it off the best out of all of them.
He also won't hold back on the trash talk while lining up against Moore, Keenan Allen, and Rome Odunze on the field while the offense attempts to learn the new scheme. I guarantee we see him hit the Spider-Man celebration more than once on the show.
4. WR Nsimba Webster
As for a lesser known player on the roster who could be featured heavily during the show, Nsimba Webster's personality would make for some great television. Webster has been on the team since October of 2021 and has been fighting for opportunities on the practice squad since arriving.
In what will be a crowded wide receiver room, Webster will once again be fighting for a spot on the roster during training camp and these types of positional battles are always featured heavily on the show.
A main star of the Hard Knocks season with the New York Jets last year was defensive lineman Tanzel Smart who had a must watch personality but didn't make the 53-man roster, however, was heroically brought back to the practice squad 10 days later. Webster could be a similar player for the Bears during training camp.
5. HC Matt Eberflus
I know, I know. He's not technically a player. But, this list wouldn't be complete without including head coach Matt Eberflus, who will be rocking his new hair style on national television later this summer.
Beyond his new-look, Eberflus also has an energetic personality and we've never really seen what the meeting rooms look like with him at the lead. Every year during Hard Knocks, it's always interesting to see how the various coaches carry themselves in front of the players and build the culture within the locker room.
The Bears will showcase why they have one of the tightest locker rooms in the league on Hard Knocks and Eberflus is a big reason why. We will also get to see which new nicknames Coach Flus comes up with for all of his new players, including Williams and the rest of the rookies, during the show.

Great sight to see at Halas Hall.
