The Tennessee Titans have an intriguing room of wide receivers ahead of the 2024 season with veteran DeAndre Hopkins serving as one of the headliners.

But there's some outside focus on Treylon Burks as well, who hasn't produced largely due to injury setbacks after he was originally selected by the team with the No. 18 overall pick in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

There's been optimism surrounding him despite all of this, though, including from teammate Calvin Ridley.

"This dude is a freak," Ridley said of Burks. "Like seriously, bro, he's going to be a stud. There's no worries in him. What I see, he's like Julio (Jones), A.J. Brown, he's like (Terrell Owens). A dude that big, that fast. He's a stud, man. You ain't got to worry about him. He's just got to learn, slow the game down. He's going to be alright."

But some view Burks as entering the season under more of a microscope with a significant amount to prove. Former Titans wide receiver Kevin Dyson sees Burks as being under pressure.

"Actually, I think it's a little bit more pressure," Dyson said in a recent radio appearance "Obviously, he's a former first-round pick and eyes are on him. The assumption is that (DeAndre) Hopkins is going to be the starter… the eyes are on (Burks) from a different standpoint. There's a little but more pressure on him in that he's got to build a name for himself… he doesn't know his fate."

A lot of this comes down to finding his place after he initially entered the NFL with sky-high expectations in the midst of the departure of star wideout A.J. Brown.

"I would argue that he's feeling more pressure in the sense that he doesn't know where he stands with the organization based on the moves they have made here in the last several months."

In 2023, Burks saw action in 11 games, with nine starts, totaling 16 catches for 221 yards. Burks caught made 33 catches for 444 yards and a touchdown in his rookie season in 2022.

"He has to go into this offseason like, 'I'm auditioning,'" Dyson said. "Whether it be for the Titans or the other 31 teams in the National Football League."

Regardless of the outcome, Burks made clear that he has confidence in himself to do more in what he hopes will be a full capacity this year.

"I feel really good. I'm healthy, having fun, and just loving ball."
