Minnesota Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson just signed a massive extension that will make him the highest paid non quarterback in NFL history. $140 million. Whew! That's a lot of lettuce. Believe it or not, there's a win in here for the Detroit Lions.

Having to face this guy two times a year for the next few years is not the win. That won't be fun. Although, you could make an argument that the Vikings may have trouble getting other deals done or getting players to stay with less money. That's not the argument we're going to make though.

The win all comes from Amon-Ra St. Brown's contract. A few weeks ago, it was the biggest receiver contract in the NFL. Since then, the price has only gotten higher. A.J. Brown passed St. Brown shortly after and now Jefferson's contract is going to completely change the market.

Guys like CeeDee Lamb, Ja'Mar Chase, Tee Higgins and Brandon Aiyuk are looking at this deal and licking their chops. This is likely to be the new standard for receivers and while some of those guys may not reach the amount that Jefferson got, they'll look to get as close as they can.

That's a win for the Lions because with every new contract that comes up, the St. Brown deal will begin to look more and more like a discount. The Lions were wise to get their extension done before all the other teams did.

There's a pretty good shot they could feel that way about the Goff deal before long as well. There's plenty of quarterbacks that are going to be looking for new deals. Dak Prescott and Tua Tagovailoa come to mind first. They'll probably want to get more than what Goff got if they can. There's a strong chance they can too.

We'll see what happens on the Goff end, but there has to be some high fives being exchanged in the Lions front office on Monday after the news of this giant Jefferson deal came down.
