Noted for being one of the best drafting teams in the league, the Pittsburgh Steelers are noted for their evaluation of talent.
And the position that stands above the rest regarding that talent is WR, as the list of significant wideouts to contribute to Pittsburgh is plenty long.
Even still, the Steelers haven't drafted a first-round WR since Santonio Holmes in 2006.
A recent report suggests that could change:
Adonai Mitchell to Formally Meet with Pittsburgh
Mitchell is one of my favorite players in the class. You don't often see a player with such a well-rounded skillset wrapped up in an elite athletic package of over 6-2, 200 pounds and with 4.3 speed:
Currently situated at 28 on the mock draft consensus board, I don't expect Mitchell to make it that far, but with a draft class stacked at QB, OT, and WR, there is a good chance he's on the board at 20.
And if that's the case, I have Mitchell second to only Georgia OT Amarius Mims on who Pittsburgh should select if both are available at that point of round one.
We'll see if Pittsburgh thinks the same.
