Draft Day will be here before we know it so, for now, we're going to continue to soak up Mel Kiper Jr.'s 2024 NFL mock drafts.

In his latest mock draft for ESPN, Kiper has the Philadelphia Eagle selecting Clemson cornerback Nate Wiggins at No. 22 overall.

Kiper had Wiggins landing with the Eagles in his last mock as well, so he's confident with this pick.

His reasoning? The Eagles cornerback room is getting old:

Philadelphia's defense fell apart at the end of last season, and top corners Darius Slay and James Bradberry are in their 30s. It's time to add an injection of youth in the secondary. Wiggins surrendered just one completion of 20-plus yards in 2023, and he has outstanding speed — he ran 4.28-second 40-yard dash at the combine. The blend of cover skills and physical tools should make him an early contributor.

Cornerback is an obvious priority for the Birds heading into the draft.

The Eagles could use all the help they can get in their secondary after they ranked 30th in both points allowed per game (25.2) and 31st in passing yards allowed to wide receivers (3,125).

Wiggins, 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds, caught the nation's attention a the NFL Combine in February as he posted an impressive 4.28 40-yard dash.

His official 40 time would have been the fastest out of all position groups at the combine if Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy hadn't clocked a 4.21.

In three seasons with the Tigers, Wiggins racked up 60 total tackles, 21 passes defended and three interceptions.

While he's the fastest corner in the draft, Wiggins is considered the second-best at the position behind Toledo standout Quinyon Mitchell who has absolutely rocked the pre-draft process.

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman loves to favor the trenches in the first round, but he may make an exception with Wiggins given how poorly the Eagles' secondary performed last season.
