The transfer portal is heating back up in college football as if it ever went cold.

Following spring practices, the transfer portal is a place that Ohio State could be looking there to add to the roster.

Ryan Day took questions recently on whether or not he would be looking to add an offensive lineman with uncertainty within.

“I think we have to look at everything,” Day said earlier in the week. “I’m not gonna sit here and say one way or the other. I’d like to watch the film today, we did a couple of (things), moved some guys around to see how that went, then see how Saturday goes and then go from there. But I can’t sit here and tell you that I know that right side is solidified right now, so I think we’ve gotta keep looking at all options.”

Day went on to say that the rest of spring camp should at least give them a solid plan of where they stand, specifically at right guard.

“The biggest thing is that right side, our right guard position, and that battle as things have gone on, we’ve moved Seth (McLaughlin) and Carson (Hinzman) both there. We’ve used Luke (Montgomery), we’ve tried Tegra (Tshabola) inside, so we’ve used a bunch of different combinations. I think by the end of this week, we need to at least identify where we’re going and where it projects at, even if (competition) continues into the preseason, which it may.”

The sophomore, Montgomery, has taken a large chunk of the snaps at right guard. The Findlay, Ohio native was a highly touted recruit who appeared in seven games as a true freshman last season. Ohio State has even tried Josh Fryar as a right guard, according to multiple reports.

There is no telling what players around the college football landscape could be hitting the portal but Ohio State will be closely watching. While the Buckeyes could make multiple additions overall, the offensive line is a position group to watch for with the door open.
