The Houston Texans are reportedly signing former New England Patriots cornerback Myles Bryant, KPRC2's Aaron Wilson reports.
Bryant signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2020, and has worked his way up to become a top member of the team. Especially this past year after the cornerback room suffering many devastating and season ending injuries.
So when it came to free agency, Bryant was open to returning to the team that gave him his first chance.
“Yeah, I mean, I love it here," he told A to Z Sports exclusively in January. "I love the coaching staff, especially the locker room, and everything about being a Patriot. And I feel like every time you step into the building, you got to try to mirror the greatness – just all the guys that have come before me. So I for sure like having to try to uphold the standard here.”
However he did admit that if the Patriots did decide to part ways with Bill Belichick, it could cause him to think differently.
“I think it’s something we’d have to sit down during that time and figure that out," he said. "I don’t have any control over that, they don’t have any control over that. So it’s just something if it came up, we’d have to talk about it.”
And now instead of staying in New England, Bryant will reunite with Nick Caserio, who formerly served as the Patriots' director of player personnel before taking the job as the Texans GM.
Across his four years with the Patriots, Bryant has recorded 200 total tackles, with two sacks, three forced fumbles, four interceptions, and 17 passes defended.
