The New England Patriots are looking to find their next franchise quarterback. But that's a very tough task considering who they had leading the charge for so many years.

After Tom Brady departed for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they brought in Cam Newton and just a year after, they drafted Mac Jones who was named the starter at the end of the training camp.

But we all know how that turned out.

So now that the Patriots hold the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, their attention has turned to this year's quarterback class. And there are a lot of good options.

However, one quarterback's latest comments prove that he isn't worried about Brady's legacy. And that should be a major green flag for New England

Nine members of the Patriots organization were in attendance on Wednesday at LSU's Pro Day, including head coach Jerod Mayo, director of scouting Eliot Wolf, offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt, and quarterbacks coach TC McCartney.

So it's pretty clear they were keeping a close eye on Jayden Daniels. And when he was asked about the possibility of joining the Patriots, the quarterback had the perfect answer about having to follow Brady.

“I played in Death Valley after Joe Burrow,” Daniels told the Boston Globe's Chris Price after Pro Day. “I feel like I’m ready for anything.

“I’m a game-changer at the quarterback position. That’s what I can bring to that franchise.”

That's the exact attitude that the Patriots need considering the struggles they have had the past few years.

Plus, Daniels wasn't kidding about the tough task he had of replacing Burrow, after the quarterback competed 76.3% of his passes for 5671 yards and threw 60 touchdowns at LSU during the 2019 season. Oh and of course there is the National Championship victory and Heisman trophy to top it all off.

Fast forward to this past season, Daniels didn't have the National Championship, but a Heisman trophy is plenty. Daniels finish the season completing 72.2% of his passes for 3812 yards and threw 40 touchdowns along with 1134 rushing  yards and 10 rushing touchdowns.

So along with not worrying about following Brady, he has a skill that the future Hall of Fame quarterback didn't: The ability to run. And that will add another layer to the Patriots offense that could be very beneficial and truly prove that this is a new era in New England.

Along with these comments, Daneils also responded to a comment from earlier this month that said he didn't want to join the Patriots due to the cold weather. He took to social media, calling the report "cap," soon after that was made public and followed that up on Wednesday.

“Same as for everybody. It’s whoever wants to draft me. Whoever believes in me,” Daniels said. “There’s stuff I can’t control. I can’t control who calls my phone on draft day. So it is what it is. Just the reports out there, sometimes you have to call out cap for people, so that’s what I had to do.”
