Hard Knocks is a popular show every year for fans of the NFL and it gives an inside look on a given team every season. Now, things are going to look a bit different with a new approach to the show.
The in-season edition is now going to focus on an entire division. Right from the rip, the Cleveland Browns and AFC North make sense.
Why the Cleveland Browns and AFC North makes sense for Hard Knocks
Storylines drive the show and the AFC North will have plenty of those to offer. The Cleveland Browns will have Deshaun Watson coming back from injury, as well as Nick Chubb. Myles Garrett is the reigning Defensive Player of the Year and Kevin Stefanski is coming off of his second Coach of the Year nod. Cleveland traded for Jerry Jeudy and still may be good for a move or two.
The Cincinnati Bengals offseason is all about Joe Burrow coming back from wrist surgery and whether or not they trade wideout Tee Higgins. Cincinnati spent quite a bit this offseason between Trent Brown and Sheldon Rankins, they also added Vonn Bell, Zach Moss, and Mike Gesicki.
It has been an interesting offseason for the Pittsburgh Steelers, who moved on from QB Kenny Pickett and WR Diontae Johnson most notably. Russell Wilson and Justin Fields now weigh down the quarterback room. Pittsburgh still has the draft ahead of them, where they always seem to stand out.
The most quiet team in the division has been the Baltimore Ravens because they have had the least to spend. Derrick Henry has been added to the offense and that makes them that much more exciting. Any Lamar Jackson content is likely to make for a good product.
We will see what is eventually decided, but the AFC North has as good of a case for in-season Hard Knocks as anyone. The best division in football last year should lead the way for the opportunity.
