Jordan Love overperformed in 2023 compared to external expectations. He surpassed 4,000 yards and 30 touchdowns in his first season as an NFL starter, but don't think this is enough for him.

Former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel, who's currently an analyst for NFL Network and The Athletic, offered a huge praise for Jordan Love's work ethic during his offseason workouts — including a comparison with future Hall of Famer quarterback Drew Brees, whom Daniel backed up for several years with the New Orleans Saints.

Jordan Love's desire to get better isn't something exactly new. His development from his first years in the NFL to what he showed in 2023 is evident, and Love himself said in a recent interview how locked in the Packers roster is to achieve big things in the upcoming season.

"Those conversations we had after that 49ers game were 'Work harder, try to find ways to get better, because next year we're gonna do it,'" Love mentioned to The Pivot Podcast. "There's no more 'we're a young team,' there's no more those what ifs. People know what we're about now. Obviously, we'll have that target on our back now, people are gonna want to beat us. We're hungry."

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur also talked to Kevin Clark on "This is Football" about Love's willingness to get better.

"The growth has been incredible. It's been phenomenal," LaFleur mentioned. "He is so much fun to work with. He's a guy that continually learns from the great plays and the not so great plays. So I'm excited about what the future has in store for him."

Chase Daniel's comparison is curious because Jordan Love and Drew Brees worked out together earlier this year.

Additionally, Chase Daniel knows Drew Brees extremely well. A career backup, Daniel played behind Brees in New Orleans over two stints (2009-2012 and 2017). Together, they won Super Bowl XLIV.

Brees played in the NFL for 20 seasons — five for the San Diego Chargers and 15 for the New Orleans Saints. He finished his career after the 2020 season, so he will be eligible for the Hall of Fame after the 2025 season.
