A nightmare for the Miami Dolphins has officially ended.

The Buffalo Bills have reportedly traded wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans, per multiple outlets.  The Bills are said to be receiving a 2025 second-round pick while also sending fifth (2025) and sixth round (2024) picks to the Texans with Diggs.

That seems like a very nice haul for the Texans.  Getting Diggs and picks while only having to part with a second is a pretty darned good payoff for a Texans team that is clearly looking to win now with NFL offensive rookie of the year C.J. Stroud.

Meanwhile, Diggs is out of the AFC East and off the Dolphins' schedule twice a year.  Diggs was an absolute menace in the teams' first matchup, a 48-20 Bills win back on October 1. Diggs had 6 catches for 120 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Diggs' departure also marks another step of a Buffalo team that's done a lot this season to reshape its roster.  A lot of talent is no longer in Western New York, including safety Jordan Poyer, who should start for the Dolphins against his old team next season.

However, it's still too early to write off the Bills.  Surely, they will make a move for a top wide receiver, either in the draft, by trade, or both.  They've lost both of their top wideouts in Diggs and Gabriel Davis, who signed a free agent deal with the Jaguars last month.

That being said, as of now, the Dolphins' goal to claim their first division title since the 2008 season just became a whole lot more achievable.
