A former Tennessee Vols defensive back was at the center of a confusing NCAA transfer portal report on Tuesday morning.

According to 247Sports, Ole Miss safety Key Lawrence re-entered the NCAA transfer portal on Tuesday morning (the first day that the spring window is open).

The tweet from 247Sports was later deleted because while an Ole Miss player named Key Lawrence did enter the portal on Tuesday, it wasn't the same Key Lawrence that played at Tennessee and Oklahoma.

Instead, according to a report from Sports Illustrated, Ole Miss had another Key Lawrence on the roster that's a walk-on. That's the Key Lawrence that's entering the portal.

The Lawrence who played at Tennessee and Oklahoma spoke to reporters at Ole Miss last week and he pointed out that he joined the Rebels because he wanted to return to the SEC and he wanted his family to be able to see him play during his final collegiate season.

"I want my family to be able to see me play my last season," said Lawrence last week. "I also wanted to get back to the Southeastern Conference.”
