The Las Vegas Raiders have had trouble drafting players in the past. The last few regimes were not great and missed a lot of very high picks. Some of the biggest that come to mind are, of course, Jamarcus Russell, Johnathan Abram, Alex Leatherwood, and a few others.

Some of them have had several shots in the league on other teams too, like Leatherwood recently signing with Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers. Now, another former first-round pick by the Raiders is trying to find his way back into the NFL.

In 2017, the Raiders took Gareon Conley, a cornerback from Ohio State, with the 24th overall pick in the draft. He was a player who showed a lot of promise coming out of college. However, it just didn't work with the Raiders.

In two and a half years with the Raiders, he finished with four interceptions and 18 passes defended. He then went on to play for the Houston Texans, which is unfortunately the last team he would play for in 2019.

That was the last year he played. Now, he is trying to get back into the NFL, and it's been nearly five years. On Tuesday, he signed a contract with an NFL team.

According to Ari Meirov, the Dallas Cowboys signed Conley, who had been playing in the UFL.

Now, he is getting a chance to prove himself once again. You have to be rooting for the kid when stories like this happen.
