Indianapolis Colts CB Dallis Flowers is making significant progress after tearing his Achilles last season.

On Tuesday, he posted a video of him dunking at a local YMCA on his Instagram story.

Flowers season prematurely last season after he tore his Achilles during the Colts Week four matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. He earned a week one starting outside CB job during Training Camp after being viewed mainly as a return specialist the previous year.

His speed and athleticism made it easy for the Colts to trust him as their top kick returner, but in terms of him getting solid snaps on defense, it took some time for them to trust him in that role. But last season, in his first year as a starting CB in the NFL, he not only looked serviceable, he was excelling.

Achillies' injuries can make it tough for players to get back to the players they were before. Many players' explosions and athleticism at times take a step back due to the grueling injury and its recovery. So, while Flowers may not be completely back yet, his posting this video of him dunking highlights where he stands today regarding his explosion, and that's a big win for the Colts.

Flowers' starting job from 2023 won't just be given to him, with Juju Brents and Jaylon Jones also in line to compete with Flowers in Training Camp. Only two of those three players can be named the Week 1 starter, and it appears that Flowers will be ready to fight for his 2023 job back. And if he can play at the level he was playing at early in 2023, it would be a big win for the Colts secondary, which had its fair share of struggles throughout last season.
