When you have a player like the Las Vegas Raiders have in Maxx Crosby, it's hard not to see why everyone loves him. He's relentless, humble, and just a dog that puts fear in all of his opponents. He's a different breed, and there isn't another Maxx Crosby in the league.
And what has made his story even better is not only his ability to be strong and overcome his addictions, but also that he came from a smaller school, and is now the best defensive player in the league. He's from Eastern Michigan University, which isn't exactly a school that's on everyone's radar.
But, he's humble and loves where he's from. It's only part of the story that is turning into a legendary one. And, because it's part of his story, and EMU is part of who he is, it's only right that he gave back to the school.
Recently, Crosby donated $1 million to the school, and the school is putting that money to good use.
The school has a new playing surface and a new name on its football field. With the iconic gray turf look, they decided to rename the field at Rynearson Stadium to Crosby Field.
EMU posted the video of the gathering they hosted for Crosby, as they revealed the new field. It's great to see a guy who has been through so much, overcome so much, and accomplished so much so far into his short career, get something like that, which he truly deserves.
