The Pittsburgh Steelers are about to enter a five week break before the 2024 season starts with training camp in Latrobe.

But before they set off for summer vacation, they have three days of mandatory minicamp.

Here are three offensive players to look for between Tuesday and Thursday.

WR Roman Wilson

The biggest question surrounding the Steelers' offense shouldn't be who's starting at QB, it's how the WR room looks outside of George Pickens in the regular season.

In an ideal world, rookie Roman Wilson shows enough throughout the minicamp to exude confidence in the Steelers front office in terms of him assuming the WR #2 role.

Currently, that isn't the case, with Van Jefferson slated to be the WR #2 at this point. And while we know Pittsburgh likes to take things slow with their rookies, they have no other choice than to speed up Wilson's development, unless they want to finally pull the trigger on a WR trade.

WR Van Jefferson

Piggybacking off of Wilson, Jefferson is the veteran in the WR room and if I had to give him a comp, it would be a less athletic George Pickens.

Jefferson can get vertical and stretch defenses, but he has yet to show he has the potential of a Z or X WR in the NFL. At his best, he was used in spread formations with light personnel groupings during his time in Los Angeles.

He was surrounded by premier WR talent like Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods, and Odell Beckham Jr. He had Matthew Stafford throwing him the ball, and one of the brightest offensive minds of his generation via his HC Sean McVay calling plays.

The soon-to-be 28-year-old did record a season that saw him go over 800 receiving yards and six TD receptions in 2021, and he does have familiarity with new OC Arthur Smith after time in Atlanta together.

How good he looks against the Steelers' DBs will be telling in terms of the potential of Pittsburgh's WR corps.

TE Pat Freiermuth

Muth is well-liked in the Steelers organization, with a potential contract extension looming. In fact, Pittsburgh may just roll with the WR corps because of how much Arthur Smith targets TEs in his offense, and how confident the front office and coaching staff is regarding Freiermuth's potential in said offense.

If he's a monster over the three days, there may be reason for optimism among the current crop of pass catchers.
