The offseason is a good time to develop football skills, but also chemistry with teammates. And that's what the New England Patriots did on Tuesday, with an amazing initiative at the Perkins Community Center/Lee School, where members of the Patriots interacted with the children, played soccer, kickball, football, basketball and creating some art projects.

But the funniest moment was the dodgeball game. And Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye showed an ability you probably wouldn't expect, with an incredible shot to knock out center David Andrews out of the game.

The Patriots players also had a game against students. Then, Maye and Andrews switched teams to help them.

Head coach Jerod Mayo said Maye and tight end Hunter Henry are the best dodgeball players of the team.

Versatility

Beyond football and, well, dodgeball, Drake Maye showed some basketball abilities as well. That's a good time for it in New England, since the Boston Celtics are up 2-0 against the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals. Drake Maye called himself a "poor man's Jayson Tatum."

In all seriousness, Drake Maye played football and basketball at Myers Park High School, in Charlotte, and the multi-sport background helped him achieve the NFL level.

The Patriots refused big-time trade-down offers to secure Drake Maye with the third overall pick in this year’s draft. That was the first giant move by the new leadership structure, with executive vice president of player personnel Eliot Wolf leading the way to select a quarterback of the future.
