"I feel fine. I ran 10 (50-yard dashes), I'm getting back in shape. Getting in the weight room, about to get strong again. So, I'm going to be ready." — Chase Young
Young has been working hard to get back from his neck surgery. Dennis Allen noted how often Young has been in the building doing whatever he can to get more comfortable in his return. There's no lack of drive from the young pass rusher.
Young is embracing the opportunity on a new team in a new city. There are some familiar faces around him, and he's wanted to get to work to prove his talent.
"Right now, just taking it one day at a time, staying in my playbook so that when my number is called, I'm ready. It's been great. Definitely getting in touch with the guys, knowing a lot of the guys already. A lot of the (Ohio State) boys here already, so it's been great…"
"I love it here. The only thing I had to get used to is that heat. But it's real cool. Great teammates, everybody welcomed me with open arms, so it's a great experience."
Young has also been outspoken about his excitement to play alongside Cameron Jordan. The long-time Saints pass rusher helped recruit him to New Orleans, and Young believes that they can be a key duo for the Saints defense in 2024.
Young also received a positive report from Dr. Robert Watkins
That's great news for New Orleans. The Saints expected him to be ready for training camp when he underwent the operation, but we know how those timetables can change. For Young, he is right on track due to his hard work to get back on the field.
He's determined to prove himself as a premier pass rusher in the NFL. His next chance will be with the Saints in 2024.
