The additions of Trent Brown and Amarius Mims gives the Cincinnati Bengals something no other NFL team has: three offensive tackles who are at least 6-8 and 340 pounds.
That's a lot of size at one position. The issue is, of course, the vast majority of offensive plays feature just two tackles on the offensive line.
So what happens when all three are on the field together, and two of them are right next to each other? Orlando Brown Jr. has a name for them.
Bengals' overpowering offensive line formation
Cincinnati had Trent Brown line up next to Mims during a mandatory minicamp practice earlier this month that caught some attention. Two players who are literal skyscrapers and weigh nearly 800 combined pounds tend to draw some eyeballs.
Orlando Brown took it upon himself to give the look a fitting nickname.
"We should call it 'Overload,'" Orlando told Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. "A lot of body out there. The double teams are going to wear people down and it's going to force people to play us honest."
"Overload" fits so perfectly. Honestly, imagine a poor 5-tech staring down the barrel of Brown and Mims conjoined at the hip. If the two are synchronized from the snap and connect at the point of attack on time, there's not a single defensive tackle strong enough to avoid displacement.
You WILL be moved off your spot if Brown and Mims are in perfect cohesion. And that's what practicing these formations are for, to get on the same page with one another.
Brown and Mims are both competing for reps at right tackle as the latter got plenty of run while Brown was absent during OTAs. Mims left a quality impression on head coach Zac Taylor as the team wrapped up its offseason program last week. It's not out of the question for Mims to start ahead of Brown sooner than later.
No matter who's the starter, there's nothing stopping the Bengals from deploying "Overload" in certain points of a game to punish defenses. Even the play action game would be seamless as defenses would likely key in on that personnel to be for running plays only.
It's yet another aspect of the Bengals offense teams will have to prepare for this season.
