The 2024 NFL Draft has come and gone with the Chicago Bears coming away with five new impact players joining the roster.

Expectations are once again high in Chicago following an overhauled offseason that included quarterback Caleb Williams joining the team. However, as everyone in Chicago has learned, nothing truly matters until you can show up on the field.

Even still, now is the time to overreact to what could be a franchise altering draft class for the Chicago Bears. That being said, here's three overreactions for how the team's season could go in 2024.

Bears will reach the playoffs as a Wild Card

This Bears' roster is now stacked from top to bottom on all three sides of the ball and now is the time to start giving this squad lofty expectations to reach for.

After a late season resurgence, the Bears knocked on the door of a playoff berth but ultimately fell short after losing two of their final four games. Heading into this season, with the revamped roster, things are starting to feel different for the Bears.

"The history is the history and I'm kind of done talking about it," Poles said after the first night of the draft. "We go back so much all the time and those days are over. We're bringing players in here that want to really just change everything up and do things a different way. Obviously, we love our history here, but it hasn't been smooth recently and it's time to change. I just feel like we got to stop pulling back all the time."

Poles has put this roster in a position to achieve that going into next season and future seasons but it all starts with the team's new quarterback in Caleb Williams. Williams, however, is ready for the challenge.

"There's no reason to duck," Williams explained. "I'm here, Rome's here, Keenan Allen, that Top-5 defense that we have last year, special teams, we're here. I'm excited, I know everybody is excited, and the Bears' fans are excited from what I've heard and seen. There's no reason to duck, attack it headfirst and go get it."

In a weak NFC conference and a young division, there's nothing holding the Bears back anymore from reaching the postseason and competing with the best in the NFL.

Rome Odunze will out-produce DJ Moore AND Keenan Allen

This would be a major surprise but it's not too farfetched considering the chemistry Oduzne and Williams already have with each other.

Odunze already has experience dominating within a loaded wide receiver room after playing alongside fellow 2024 draft picks Ja'Lynn Polk and Jalen McMillan. Even in the loaded room, Odunze led the entire NCAA with 1,640 receiving yards in 2023.

Compared to DJ Moore and Keenan Allen, two Pro Bowl caliber weapons themselves, Odunze offers more of a deep threat impact that could lead to more yards and touchdowns on the stat sheet.

"Just the explosiveness," head coach Matt Eberflus said about Odunze. "I love the work ethic. His story is all about work and I love that. He's going to fit right into our group with the explosiveness he brings. It's fun to be able to throw DJ or Rome or Keenan a five-yard pass and all of a sudden it turns to 20-25. You win with explosive plays and those guys bring that to the table."

However, it'll be a tough task to out produce the two veterans ahead of him on the depth chart. Moore finished the 2023 season with a career-high 1,364 yards and 8 touchdowns while Allen recorded a career-high 108 receptions with the Chargers.

Kiran Amegadjie will takeover and start at LT

This one could the boldest of these three overreactions just because I still believe the Bears' staff still views Braxton Jones as starting material at left tackle despite drafting Kiran Amegadjie in the third round.

Amegadjie is the perfect developmental tackle to have on the roster and will need undergo some adjusting before blocking against NFL caliber pass rushers. Amegadjie is also coming off a major quad injury during the 2023 season.

However, there's no denying his talent. Amegadjie allowed zero sacks on 128 pass blocking snaps in 2023 and zero sacks on 301 pass blocking snaps in 2022.

"You love the tools that he has," general manager Ryan Poles said. "His pass pro is really good, love his length and hand usage. He's a big man that we believe is going to continue to get bigger and more explosive. So, it should really increase the competition on our offensive line and make everyone better…

"We don't really want to put a ceiling on him. The progression is potentially getting himself into swing tackle setup. He can play guard early in his career and move to swing tackle, which is always helpful. We have struggled with flexibility in the past, so he has that ability. We'll see where he ascends to. If that means competing to start this year next year, that's great."

I always say never say never and there could be a chance Amegadjie pushes Jones for the starting job if he can get on the field and prove himself at the next level.
