Earlier this offseason, 2025 three-star cornerback Shamar Arnoux decommitted from the Tennessee Vols.

Arnoux, 6-foot-1/170 lbs from Carrollton, GA, was committed to Tennessee for nearly a year before his decommitment.

The three-star defensive back is rated by 247Sports as the No. 55 cornerback in the nation and the No. 65 player in the state of Georgia.

Despite the less-than-impressive ranking, Arnoux is becoming a coveted player in the 2025 recruiting class.

According to Rivals.com national recruiting analyst John Garcia Jr, Arnoux put together a "near MVP effort" at the recent Rivals Camp Series stop in Atlanta.

From Rivals.com: Already a blue-chip cornerback projection, we missed some live evaluations of Arnoux because of an ankle injury he dealt with in 2023. The former Tennessee commitment is back at it and it didn’t take long to notice him at work Sunday, where his combination of length and instincts put a lot of pressure on receivers at the line of scrimmage and at the catch point.

Arnoux equally impressed with his long speed and ball skills, all combining for a near MVP effort for the modern boundary cornerback projection.

Rivals.com's Adam Friedman, along with Garcia, noted this week that Georgia, LSU, Florida State, and South Carolina are a couple of the programs "pushing" for Arnoux.

Colorado is also showing some interest.

Georgia, however, feels like the program that's trending the most for the former Vol commit.

From Rivals.com: At this point, Arnoux feels like Georgia, LSU, Florida State, and South Carolina are really pushing for him. He singled out Georgia defensive backs coach Donte Williams as one coach he feels like is making him a priority because he is giving him pointers on how to improve and explaining how he’d fit into their system.

When Arnoux initially decommitted from Tennessee, it wasn't viewed as a big loss because of his low recruiting ranking.

But now that programs like LSU and Georgia are trying to land the three-star recruit, it makes you wonder if the Vols should've tried a little harder to keep Arnoux committed.

Arnoux could be a hidden gem that got away from the Volunteers.
