The Indianapolis Colts were slated to make their second selection of the 2024 NFL Draft art pick 46.

But chose to trade back six spots with the Carolina Panthers and now own the 52nd pick in the 2nd round.

Accoridng to the Rich Hill trade chart here is how the trade looks in a value sense:

Colts send: Pick 46 (128 points)
Panthers send: Picks 52 (109 points), 142 (14 points) and 155 (11 points) = 134 points

Therefore, the Colts technically won this deal using Hill's trade value chart by six points.

I would have preferred them stay and select, one of the top WRs on the board such as Troy Franklin or Adonai Mitchell. But this is an example of GMs knowing best, as the Colts still landed Adonai Mitchell at pick 52 and now have two-fifths to either use themselves or package to move up in the 3rd or 4th rounds.

Grade: A-

Bonus: Jason via Over the Clock shares a trade chart that has the Colts winning this trade by a much larger margin.
