Often when NFL players hang the cleats up they end up doing quite a bit of talking. Sometimes it comes out in written pieces, sometimes it shows up in video and goes viral.

Johnny Manziel recently did an interview on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay show and had a few things to say about his old teammate with the Browns, Brian Hoyer.

Manziel made him out to be a pretty bad teammate and not accepting of a rookie who plays the same position.

"My quarterback room was not a home for me because of Brian Hoyer,” Manziel said on Club Shay Shay. “Brian Hoyer had been waiting on an opportunity to be able to go really provide for his family, get an opportunity and he saw how much of an upper hand he had on me and he didn't hold back when it came to that. So there were instances in the quarterback room early on when I would ask the same question a couple times and he'd be at the head of the table and go, '[Disgusted noise] Again? We're doing this again?' Keep him out of it, right.”

Manziel went on to say he meant what he said and that he didn’t have anything against Hoyer, who was his teammate during the 2014 season.

“Let's just cut that off and I don't have a bad word to say about Brian Hoyer. That is just the fact of what happened in that room."

Hoyer recently was asked about what Manziel had said on an edition of Good Morning Football.

"I was kind of apathetic towards him I would say. I didn't go out of my way to be a jerk to him, but in the same sense, I was trying to win this job and go out and perform the best I could,” Hoyer explained. “I feel sorry that he feels that way about it. I always looked at it like, I never had any animosity towards Johnny. If anything, it was towards the owner and GM, who were always trying to push him ahead of me when, clearly, he wasn't ready and I was going to be the starter.”

So, it turns out that any ill-feeling was toward Jimmy Haslam and former GM Ray Farmer, who were badly wanting Manziel to the guy.

Now, will this be the end of the short feud between the two about their time as teammates? We’ll see.
