The New Orleans Saints made an adjustment to a franchise legend's deal on Thursday.
According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Saints restructured Cameron Jordan's contract to clear over $9 million in 2024 salary cap space.
Jordan is the franchise's all-time sack leader. He has been an elite pass rusher in the past, but he has slowed down in recent years.
Jordan turns 35 on July 10th. He has played all of his 13 NFL seasons with the Saints. He was the 24th overall pick in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
The veteran has been a fan favorite for quite some time in New Orleans. He will certainly spend at least 2024 on the field for the Saints now. Jordan has been a Pro Bowler eight times in his career. He's also recorded 225 QB hits, 153 tackles for loss, and forced 15 fumbles.
The Saints still need to make a handful of moves to become cap compliant. According to OverTheCap, the Saints must clear just under $17M to get back under the cap.
