Phalen, a Nashville-based reporter for A to Z Sports who covers the Titans on a daily basis, released his latest Titans mock draft on Monday.
And he has former Vols cornerback Kamal Hadden heading west to Nashville. Phalen has the Titans selecting Hadden in the seventh round of the draft.
When I spoke with Kamal Hadden at the combine in Indianapolis, he said that whatever team drafts him this April is getting “a playmaker.” After all, he had three interceptions including a pick six for the Tennessee Volunteers in 2023. Hadden is an extremely athletic cornerback who had a breakout season in 2023 after going through some struggles earlier in his career at Tennessee.
Those struggles (some poor tackling at times), and subsequent boos from Vols fans, are part of what makes Hadden such an interesting draft prospect.
Hadden never let the boos affect his play on the field. In fact, he continued to improve until the boos turned into cheers.
The ability to truly block out the noise while continuing to improve is a trait that should be attractive to NFL teams.
I wouldn't be surprised if Hadden's draft stock steadily increases over the next month — especially after his pro day at Tennessee later this month.
But if he falls to the seventh round, any team that lands him will be getting incredible value.
