One of the Tennessee Vols' top 2025 recruiting targets is four-star wide receiver Derek Meadows.

Meadows, 6-foot-5/200 lbs from Las Vegas, NV, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 10 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 3 player in the state of Nevada.

Notre Dame is currently at the top for Nash, but he's also interested in Tennessee, along with Alabama, Notre Dame, Michigan, Georgia, and Michigan State.

One of the reasons that Meadows likes the Vols is because his wide receivers coach at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas is former Tennessee wide receiver Marcus Nash.

Nash, a former first round NFL draft selection, played at Tennessee from 1994 to 1997, was a first team All-SEC selection in 1997.

The Vols offered Meadows last month.

“It was huge (the offer from UT) because my receivers coach, Marcus Nashwent to Tennessee,” said Meadows to On3 this week. “He’s a legend there. He played receiver for Peyton Manning, so that’s awesome. As soon as I got the offer, I texted him and was like, ‘Coach, I got the offer from Tennessee.’ He was so happy for me.”

Meadows noted to On3 that he likes that Tennessee throws the ball a lot.

It sounds like the Vols have some ground to make up in the battle for Meadows — again, Notre Dame is out in front for now — but the presence of Nash at Bishop Gorman could certainly help Tennessee come out on top in this recruiting battle.
