Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox is calling it quits after 12 incredible seasons wearing midnight green.

The six-time Pro Bowler officially announced his retirement on Instagram, thanking fans, teammates and the Eagles' organization in a heartfelt post.

In response to Cox's retirement announcement, the Eagles shared a special tribute video:

The video revealed that Cox had originally told his teammates following the Eagles' 32-9 blowout loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Round 1 of the playoffs last season.

"It's been a long, long 12 years," Cox told his team in the locker room. "I knew one day this day would come. I just want ya'll to know that this is it for me."

Cox then called out every coach by their name to tell them that he appreciated them.

The tribute highlights some of Cox's best plays and greatest interview and team speeches.

At the end, the video cuts to Cox at the 2018 Super Bowl LII parade chanting "E-A-G-L-E-S" with the fans.
