The NFL Pro Day circuit is always quite the show. It's remarkable how impressive football's finest athletes can look when throwing and catching the ball against air. And for as little as we might truly learn from a well-rehearsed pro day work out, they're still incredible to watch. Quinn Ewers takes the stage today at the Texas Pro Day to throw for Xavier Worthy and Adonai Mitchell. It should be a special sight to see.

As Mike Garafolo reported this morning, there will be several NFL scouts present to get an early look at the elite arm talent Quinn Ewers possesses. Many scouts already believe Ewers to be the potential QB1 for the 2025 NFL Draft, so expect some fireworks today.

What makes Quinn Ewers so good that he might be the QB1 for the 2025 NFL Draft?

Dating back to his high school recruiting days his arm talent was always quite evident. So much so that he was the consensus number one overall recruit in his class, even after reclassifying a year early. While there have been a handful of quarterbacks to reclassify and go to college early, no quarterback has ever been the number one overall recruit after they jumped up a class like Ewers did. He's been a special talent for a long time.

But more recently, Ewers posted a top ten QB Efficiency Composite last fall, which combines 16 different meaningful production metrics into one score to help show us who the best quarterbacks in college football truly are. Ewers made a couple errant throws against Oklahoma last season, but outside of that his year certainly looked like a first-round caliber talent.

Some skeptics highlight his inconsistencies in 2022, but that was largely due to a shoulder issue he was fighting through. He injured his shoulder again last fall, but after returning posted some of his best games on the year.

When Ewers throws to Xavier Worthy and Adonai Mitchell today people will be reminded just how special his arm talent can be. And we can surely expect great things this coming season from the quarterback who finally brought Texas back.
