This might have been one of the more shocking cuts for the Detroit Lions. Starling Thomas was a stud at camp from pretty much day one. Most beat writers had him making the 53-man roster. Myself included. The Lions wound up waiving him after Steven Gilmore became undeniable during the preseason. Now Thomas will be heading to the Cardinals
Thomas seemed like a guy that was set to make the Lions roster, but there were just too many guys in front of him and now he'll head to the Cardinals and will be on their 53-man roster.
Thomas was a guy that probably should have been drafted in the late rounds of this years draft. When you see a guy with the talent that he has and he's not on a team, it really makes you wonder what NFL GM's are doing. The Cardinals got this one right.
No other players that were waived by the Lions were claimed on Wednesday.
