Colorado football took many by surprise on Saturday, including some New England Patriots players.

While Twitter was full of praise for coach Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes, one Patriots player was motivated by one star in particular.

In his first year as coach of Colorado, Sanders led the Buffaloes to a 45-42 victory over TCU. And one player who stood out above all was Travis Hunter, who contributed on both sides of the ball.

Hunter played more than 100 snaps during the game as both a receiver and a cornerback. He ended the game with 11 receptions for 119 receiving yards on offensive, with one interception on defense.

And now one Patriots receiver wants to follow in Hunter's steps.

After the game, Kendrick Bourne took to Twitter like many other players, but his post showed just how much he was impressed by Hunter.

"I wanna play both sides of the ball now," Bourne wrote with a laughing emoji.

However, a fellow teammate seems to not have as much confidence in Bourne.

"I've seen you play db. Cut it out lol," wide receiver DeVante Parker responded on Twitter (via MassLive's Chris Mason).

It's no secret why Hunter is thriving under Sanders, with the former NFL player turned college coach having done the same thing during his playing days.

The relationship between Sanders and Hunter is strong, with the Colorado star having flipped his commitment to Jackson State from Florida State in 2021 to play for Sanders. And he didn't disappoint, finishing his freshman season with 19 total tackles, two interceptions, and one defensive touchdown. On the other side of the ball he recorded 14 receptions for 141 yards and two touchdowns.

When Sanders left to coach Colorado, Hunter entered the transfer portal as expected and announced his commitment to play for the Buffaloes just two days later.

While this is just the beginning for Colorado, Sanders has proven he has a strong team behind him. With that, all eyes will be on the Buffaloes this season as they look to turn this into a dominant run.
