Dallas Cowboys football is back!
The team kicks off the year against the New York Giants on the road. Every NFC East game matters greatly in a division with three playoff teams. Without any further ado, let's get to how to watch the game as well as a preview, players to watch, and notable injuries.

The Cowboys' key to victory
Last year, Micah Parsons' two sacks on Giants quarterback Daniel Jones were only part of the story. In fact, the superstar pass rusher disrupted New York's attack by making a big impact in the run game as well. He got the best of left tackle Andrew Thomas several times throughout the game. That's just the tip of the iceberg.
Last year, the Cowboys defense finished with the highest pressure rate in the league. The Giants enter this game with an improved offensive line but one that still ranks 29th in the league per Pro Football Focus' Sam Monson. This shouldn't be a competitive game in the trenches and considering the Giants offense is short on legit weapons, this game could get out of hand quickly.
Dak Prescott's new friend
While we're excited about a Mike McCarthy offense that will have at least one "radical" change, the biggest difference between this year and last year comes down to one man: WR Brandin Cooks.
Sunday night will be the first look Cowboys fans get at the veteran in the Silver and Navy. But that's not all. Cooks is expected to line up against one of the two rookie cornerbacks the Giants are expected to get on the field: Deonte Banks and Tre Hawkins. With a lot of man coverage in the Giants' scheme, it sets up for a big play or two for Cooks in his Cowboys debut.
Cowboys' notable injuries vs. Giants
- LG Tyler Smith: Doubtful
- S Donovan Smith: Doubtful
- LT Tyron Smith: Questionable (expected to play)
- FS Malik Hooker: Questionable (expected to play)

3 Players to watch
- S Jayron Kearse: The S/LB hybrid will likely match up against TE Darren Waller (if he plays) on most snaps throughout the game. He's the Giants' top weapon and Kearse will go a long way in taking that away from Daniel Jones. In recent years, Kearse has become the team's tight end eraser.
- C Tyler Biadasz: We still don't know who'll replace Tyler Smith at left guard when the game starts. But whoever it is will likely receive help from Biadasz, the team's center. He'll have his hands full against one of the best defensive tackle duos in the league in Dexter Lawrence and Leonard Williams.
- DT Osa Odighizuwa: On a similar note, the Giants' offensive line is at its weakest at both guard spots. Expect Osa, one of the most underrated Cowboys on the roster, to have a huge game on Sunday night.
More Cowboys news ahead of the game

- Cowboys head coach is "very impressed" with first-year kicker Brandon Aubrey.
- Cowboys didn't call back WR DeAndre Hopkins during the offseason
