Will Justin Fields show improvement as a passer with DJ Moore?
The biggest storyline for the Bears today will be seeing how quarterback Justin Fields has developed as a passer during this offseason. Last season, Chicago ranked dead last in passing yards (2,219) and passing yards per game (130.5) while Fields finished the year with a 17:11 touchdown/interception ratio.
The Bears franchise quarterback is expected to make some improvements in the passing department thanks to the addition of wide receiver DJ Moore. The fifth-year veteran will be making his Bears debut after recording a career-high seven touchdowns with the Carolina Panthers in 2022.
3 other players to watch out for:
CB Tyrique Stevenson- The big explosive rookie cornerback will be making his NFL debut after the Bears traded up five spots to select him with the 56th overall pick back in April. Stevenson won the starting gig and is ready to make some plays on defense.
RB Khalil Herbert- RB1 status has finally been achieved for the third-year back. Herbert was an integral part of the Bears rushing attack that ranked first in the league last season. Now, the Bears are ready to fully unleash the 25-year-old as the top back.
DE Yannick Ngakoue- A late offseason signing is looking to making an early impact for the Bears after cashing $10 million in guarantees. Chicago ranked 32nd in sacks last season and will be hoping Ngakoue can help the defense get after the passer.
Bears’ former first-round pick to be heavily involved in Bears-Packers game
