FOXBOROUGH, MA – One thing is clear about Tom Brady: he was a true team player.

Many New England Patriots players have taken a walk down memory lane this past week in preparation for the season opener where Brady will be honored at halftime.

And when asked about his favorite and funniest memory with Brady, Joe Cardona certainly delivered.

"These blue laundry bins we have, one day we were randomly, I think it's a Saturday before a game, we were randomly shooting soccer balls into the bin. And we got into a back and forth matchup. There's no end in sight," Cardona said to A to Z Sports. "We just kept going. I think we were probably gonna miss any meeting that came up until one of us missed, but luckily, at risk of me getting fined for being late to a meeting, he missed to ended the game."

If one thing has become clear about Brady from his 23 season career, the seven-time Super Bowl champion does not like to lose.

However, he was willing to take the loss in order to ensure that his teammate wasn't fined for missing a meeting.

"You could obviously tell when he missed it on purpose to let me get to my meeting on time," Cardona said. "So it was a funny moment."

Cardona was drafted by the Patriots in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, and spent five seasons with Brady. The duo won two Super Bowls together and made countless memories.

So this celebration on Sunday is one that Cardona has been looking forward to.

"To have Tom back in Foxborough, it means so much to so many people. But for me, being his teammate for five years, it's gonna feel right having him back at Gillette Stadium," Cardona said. "Obviously he deserves every accolade, every word of praise and even more than we can give him, but to have him around and to get to celebrate him, not once and for all, but once in a long string of celebrations I'm sure is exciting for all of us."
