FOXBOROUGH, Mass – The New England Patriots rookies had a strong showing in the season opener on Sunday, and that included defensive end Keion White.

However, despite his impressive NFL debut, the rookie was more focused on the end result when asked how it felt to get his first game over with.

"To be honest, it feels like I lost because I did," White told A to Z Sports. "That's just for me. I live in wins and losses."

Going into the game, White explained that he didn't have any first-game jitters, instead concentrating on what he knows how to do.

"Not for me personally. I've always believed that football is football so I've been growing up all my life playing football and it's the same thing," White said. "You just go to play better. It's a different level of skill set."

Starting his career at Old Dominion in 2017, White originally played as a tight end until the spring of 2019. However when he switched to the defensive side, he knew he found his calling.

The Patriots selected White with the 46th overall pick in 2023 and that was when fans got a first glimpse of the very serious versatile defensive end. A self proclaimed "chill person," White isn't known for saying much, and instead showing himself through his play style.

And his mindset fits perfectly in a Patriots organization that prides themself on their winning ways.

"About this team, we don't live in consolation prizes. So at the end of the day, we lost and we'll learn from it though. That's the one thing, we are resilient and we're going to learn from it and watch the film and fix our mistakes and come back stronger."
