The Detroit Lions are on top of the world right now. I mean, think about it. They are a team with just one playoff win in their entire existence, yet they just beat the defending champions, who are starting a dynasty in the Kansas City Chiefs.
So, yes, they will be a bit insufferable.
But we expect that from the fans. They have endured decades and decades of being very bad. The players and coaches are getting over their heads.
First, we see Chauncey C. J. Gardner-Johnson talking about coming into Arrowhead and taking over and talking all kinds of trash, yet he just lost the Super Bowl to the Chiefs a few months ago.
Now we see the Lions' head coach, Dan Campbell, acting similarly, and it just doesn't make sense.
Campbell recently said Ford Field will be louder than Arrowhead Stadium is for their home opener on Sunday vs. the Seahawks.
"It'll be to the point where you can't hear yourself think — for them anyway," Campbell said.
Let's start by saying no, it won't. Just straight up, no, it won't be as loud or louder. Arrowhead holds the record for the loudest stadium at 142.2 decibels. Let's finish this by saying Campbell is saying that so the fans show up and get louder. He tells the fans they need to bring it to come Sunday.
But you can do that without saying it will be louder than Arrowhead because it won't be.
4 winners and 2 losers from Lions vs Chiefs
What a night that was for the Detroit Lions. That really happened everyone. The Lions went into the Super Bowl champions home and walked out with a win in front of a national audience in prime time. The Lions went toe to toe with the best team in football and came out ahead in dramatic […]
