Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Deuce Vaughn had to wait until the second half to get a carry but when he finally did, he made it count.
In Week 2 of the NFL preseason against the Seattle Seahawks, Vaughn took his first rush attempt 13 yards into the end zone for his second touchdown of the preseason. Of course, he made it happen with style.
With two pulling offensive linemen leading the way, Vaughn ran to his left before making a small cut in the second level. As the crashing safety approached him, Vaughn hit him with the spin button and managed to shake off the tackle.
A fraction of a second later, the 5-foot-5 running back was walking into the end zone all by himself for the Cowboys' touchdown.
It was yet another big play in Vaughn's two-game old career in Dallas. He's done nothing but show he's the real deal since he arrived. While everyone had questions about his height since he was drafted in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, so far it hasn't been an issue.
In fact, you could even argue it's a strength as he uses his size to hide from defenders and elude them in creative ways.
There's no questioning that the former Kansas State standout is making the 53-man roster. As of right now, all Vaughn is trying to do is climb Malik Davis and Rico Dowdle on the running back depth chart (both of whom have played before him in the first two preseason games).
Plays like this are what are forcing the Cowboys to give him snaps with the first-team. Here's hoping Vaughn can keep building on a very strong start to his career.
