The Tennessee Titans got into the win column on Saturday night. The team beat the Minnesota Vikings 24-16 and saw many impressive performances along the way.

After two preseason games, we now know quite a bit more about this roster. Against the Vikings, a few players solidified their cases to make this roster.

Today, I want to identify those three players who most helped their chances to make the roster for the 2023 season.

OLB Caleb Murphy

Murphy went from being a player who had a good chance to make the roster, to a player that is seemingly a lock after the second preseason game.

Murphy was a menace all night against the Vikings. The rookie UDFA collected three tackles and led the team with two sacks. Even when Murphy didn't get to the QB, he was perpetually in the backfield. The rookie showcased a relentless motor and an ability to fly off the edge at any moment.

I don't see how Murphy doesn't make the roster. Harold Landry III, Arden Key, and Rashad Weaver are locked, but a fourth edge rusher is needed. Murphy has been the guy to step up and claim that spot.

DB Eric Garror

If you’ve watched the first two games, you’d know that Garror’s name is constantly called. The UDFA is all over the place and just makes plays. Garror was near the team lead in tackles once again, finishing with four against the Vikings. Garror also added one pass defense and contributed in the return game.

Garror took two punts for 22 yards, which was easily the best performance in the return game. This versatility will only help Garror's case to make the roster.

Mike Vrabel preaches toughness and smart play. Garror embodies these traits. The rookie has routinely made solid tackles and isn't afraid of contact. Garror has to make this team.

RB Julius Chestnut

The RB3 competition should now be over. Chestnut had an impressive performance against the Vikings, finishing with 13 carries for 98 yards and a rushing TD.

Chestnut also caught a pass for a TD and made a tackle on special teams. This is the type of performance that Vrabel loves to see. A former UDFA making plays in all phases of the game? Yeah, Chestnut should make the team.

Hassan Haskins has failed to impress this preseason, which could doom his chances to make the roster. Add in the off-the-field situation and Haskins could be in trouble. Jacques Patrick didn't play badly, but he was nowhere near as impressive as Chestnut.

Haskins didn't see the field Saturday, so it seems like Chestnut is in a good spot. Derrick Henry and Tyjae Spears will obviously see the majority of carries, but Chestnut has done enough to prove he deserves a roster spot.
