The Seattle Seahawks currently look like they could have one of the best offenses in the NFL in 2023 on paper.

From skill players to the starting quarterback, Seattle could prove difficult to stop for any team in the league were it not for one position.

Seattle's offensive line has been lackluster for a while now, and if guys like Charles Cross can't step up in the upcoming season, the offense will be capped in a major way on how great it can be.

With a somewhat decent offensive line that can protect Geno Smith, this offense could compete for a Super Bowl. No hyperbole. If Smith is forced to run for his life again, expect for all this talent on the most important side of the ball to simply end in a wildcard appearance.

Cross is currently the largest X-factor.

The tackle out of Mississippi State had some supporters as the best rookie tackle coming into the league last year, and while there were some good results, the overall product was lacking.

Cross gave up seven sacks and seven penalties as a rookie. You simply can't have that from a guy that you draft as early as Cross was.

The good news for Seattle is that growing pains do happen, especially at tackle, and the hope is that the time spent in the system should help Cross start the season in a more comfortable spot.

Still, Cross has played a little in the preseason to get ready for the start of the year and has given up a sack already with just 18 snaps.

You have to hope that was simply a fluke.

One way or another, Charles Cross should prove to be the most important offensive player on the Seahawks this year based solely on his ability to raise and lower the quality of the unit as a whole.

Hopefully 2023 is seen as a year of growth.
