It's no secret that country music singer Morgan Wallen is a massive fan of the Tennessee Vols.
Wallen, who grew up in East Tennessee and graduated from Gibbs High School, mentions the Vols in several of his popular songs. He's also routinely seen at Tennessee football games.
So it should come as no surprise that Wallen's biggest career goal involves the Volunteers.
While recently co-hosting Country Countdown USA, Wallen revealed that his ultimate touring goal is to play a sold out concert at Neyland Stadium.
“I know it’s hard to imagine where you go from there. It’s obviously really cool. I’m always trying to make new goals," said Wallen. "As far as touring goes, my No. 1 goal in selling out Neyland Stadium in Knoxville.”
Numerous big acts have played Neyland over the years with Garth Brooks in 2019 being the most recent (Brooks currently holds the record for most tickets sold for a concert at Neyland with 85,000).
Other acts that have played Neyland include Taylor Swift (2008), Kenny Chesney (2003), and Michael Jackson (1984).
85,000 tickets is a lot of tickets, but Wallen is currently at the height of his popularity and Tennessee football is winning again. It could be the perfect time to make that concert in Neyland happen. It might be the only time that 102,000 fans attend a non-football event at Neyland Stadium.
