Had Mahomes made the throw, the internet would have broken. It almost did with an incomplete pass.
However, while all of that is great, there is new information that would suggest maybe Mahomes made the wrong read.
When you break down the film from the all-22 view, which is the high-wid camera angle that allows you to see every person on the field as if you were on top of the stadium, you can see one player get a wide pen.
That one player is none other than Travis Kelce, of course.
There is only one thing, though, Kelce was on the complete opposite side of the field, and it looked like he was calling for the ball.
Now, the pass would have been near impossible, but Kelce has seen Mahomes do the impossible so many times; that is likely why he raised his hands for the ball.
Patrick Mahomes, though, saw a tweet of the still shot with Kelce wide open. Laughingly he tweeted, "Can't believe I missed it."
You have to love this guy.
Patrick Mahomes just had the coolest incomplete pass we may ever see
