Last season the Las Vegas Raiders came into 2022 with very high expectations. They were just coming off of a playoff appearance and added the best receiver in football, a savvy pass rusher in Chandler Jones, and a new coach, whereas they had an interim head coach before.

As we all know, they somehow got worse. Everyone immediately starts jumping at head coach Josh McDaniels because that's what fans do. If something isn't working, it's usually the coach, right?

Then we found out through several players last season that not everyone was bought into what they were doing. Ultimately, that could have been the reason the season didn't go as planned.

"Just don't have enough guys that are fully bought in," Davante Adams told reporters last November. "I don't think people are like, you know, 'F what (McDaniels) is talking about' or 'I'm going against the grain.' It's just a matter of executing when it's time. … It means playing a complete game, every minute of the game, giving it everything you've got. … It's doing your job and making the plays when you're called on and getting the opportunities, and we just don't do that at a high enough level right now."

Now, we are hearing all the right things this offseason, and it could mean the team is miles ahead of where they were last season.

"Yeah, I think the coaches have done a great job this offseason emphasizing what they want this year, and I think all the guys have bought in, starting in OTAs and all the way through now," linebacker Luke Masterson said Tuesday. "I think it's a mindset, and we're all buying in and just trying to get better every day."

After everything that happened last season, this is exactly what you want to hear. The Raiders have everyone on board, which means they are rending in the right direction.
