The Kansas City Chiefs grounds crew has been hard at work getting GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium ready for preseason Week 3 and the 2023 NFL season.

Chiefs head groundskeeper and Director of Turf Management, Travis Hogan, often likes to share his work on his personal Twitter (X) account @Twillhog75. The recent images and videos that he has shared show Arrowhead Stadium undergoing its transformation from a venue that hosts concerts and events in the offseason to the home of the Chiefs.

On August 20, the team began taking the floor out to begin installing the grass playing surface that will be used during football season.

This is a process that Hogan and his team have down to a science after plenty of years of practice.

They began installing the new grass playing surface on Tuesday, Aug. 22, just five days ahead of the team's preseason Week 3 tilt with the Cleveland Browns. Once the grass is all down, Hogan says his team will continue getting Arrowhead prepped with goal posts, paint, wall pads, and the tunnel tarp, completing its transformation for football season.

Saturday will be the first look at Arrowhead Stadium ahead of the regular season opener against the Detroit Lions on Thursday, Sept. 7.
