Was there a single player on the Buccaneers that made a more convincing case to make the 53-man roster this offseason than wide receiver Trey Palmer?
A few months ago, Palmer looked like he would be a solid depth piece that the Bucs like to target so much at the back end of Day Three, but even that seems like a silly thought today.
Not only has Palmer made an astounding case to make the 53-man roster, but he has also cemented himself as an obvious starter for Week 1 of the regular season if the Bucs actually care about winning football games.
With Russell Gage set to miss the entirety of the regular season in 2023, Palmer is going to have a unique opportunity to show just how much he can do with a team that has a genuine need of his talents.
Whether it is blowing past defensive backs of all talent levels or going up and making unbelievable catches after bad throws in the preseason, Palmer is going to be a perfect addition for a team that has been looking to get back to a group of three top receivers ever since Antonio Brown left.
Palmer hasn't even looked like a rookie. This is a guy that has the perfect blend of speed, route-running, and hands to easily get five or six targets in a regular season game and make the most of them, especially when opposing defenses are going to have to focus on Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.
Get ready for Palmer to have an absolutely massive season as one of the most exciting rookies for the Bucs in quite some time.
