The Chicago Bears are finished with the 2023 preseason. The team now has to get down to a 53-man roster by 4 p.m. ET on August 29.

After three preseason games, we have a pretty good idea about what this roster will look like come Week 1. To see our previous roster prediction, click here

Let's dig into our final projections for the 53-man roster.

Quarterback (3)

IN: Justin Fields, P.J. Walker, Tyson Bagent**

OUT: Nathan Peterman

The skinny: For much of the offseason I had the Bears keeping just Fields and Walker. However, the rookie UDFA Bagent has played his way onto this roster. I think Walker still makes the team due to his starting experience and he did have his best preseason game in the finale.

Running Back (5)

IN: Khalil Herbert, D'Onta Foreman, Roschon Johnson, Travis Homer, Khari Blasingame (FB)

OUT: Robert Burns**, Trestan Ebner

The skinny: Ebner had a nice camp but has unfortunately missed time to injury, giving Homer the edge. Burns had a nice summer as well, but he's a fullback and most teams don't even keep one of those, much less two. Blasingame is cemented as the lead blocker.

Wide Receiver (6)

IN: DJ Moore, Darnell Mooney, Chase Claypool, Tyler Scott, Equanimeous St. Brown, Daurice Fountain

OUT: Velus Jones Jr., Isaiah Ford, Nsimba Webster

The skinny: Claypool, Mooney, Moore, and Scott are locks. St. Brown gets a spot due to his experience in the system, even after having a poor preseason. I like Fountain to get the final spot after a solid preseason. Scott showed ability on returns, making Jones redundant.

Tight End (3)

IN: Cole Kmet, Robert Tonyan, Marcedes Lewis

OUT: Lachlan Pitts**, Stephen Carlson

The skinny: This group seems set. Due to Blasingame being on the roster, I can't see four TEs being necessary. Kmet, Tonyan, and Lewis provide a perfect blend of blocking and receiving.

Offensive Line (9)

IN: Braxton Jones, Teven Jenkins, Cody Whitehair, Nate Davis, Darnell Wright*, Larry Borom, Ja'Tyre Carter, Lucas Patrick, Alex Leatherwood

OUT: Aviate Collins, Robert Haskins**, Roy Mbaeteka, Dieter Eiselen, Gabriel Huoy**, Doug Kramer, Josh Lugg**, Logan Stenberg, Kellen Diesch

The skinny: Davis, Jenkins, Jones, Whitehair, and Wright are a solid starting unit. Carter and Borom have had phenomenal summers and Patrick and Leatherwood are solid depth. This is a much-improved unit.

Defensive Line (8)

IN: Yannick Ngakoue, Andrew Billings, Justin Jones, DeMarcus Walker, Zacch Pickens, Gervon Dexter Sr., Terrell Lewis, Dominique Robinson

OUT: Trevis Gipson, Rasheem Green, D'Anthony Jones**, Bravvion Roy, Travis Bell*, Andrew Brown, Jalen Harris**

The skinny: Gipson recently received permission to seek a trade, so I will have him on the outs. Pickens and Dexter are solid rookie backups on the interior while Lewis and Robinson provides depth on the edge.

Outside Linebacker (4)

IN: TJ Edwards, Jack Sanborn, Mykal Walker, Micah Baskerville**

OUT: DeMarquis Gates, Dylan Cole, Davion Taylor

The skinny: Edwards and Sanborn will be the Sam and Will linebackers while Walker has made the most of his opportunities since coming over from Atlanta. Baskerville gets the final spot.

Inside Linebacker (2)

IN: Tremaine Edmunds, Noah Sewell*

OUT: Barrington Wade

The skinny: Edmunds will be the leader of the defense after securing a massive free agent deal this offseason. Sewell will rotate in as a rookie and be a key special teamer.

Cornerback (6)

IN: Jaylon Johnson, Kyler Gordon, Tyrique Stevenson*, Terell Smith*, Josh Blackwell, Jaylon Jones

OUT: Kindle Vildor, Michael Ojemudia, Greg Stroman Jr., Macon Clark**,

The skinny: Gordon, Johnson, and the rookie Stevenson appear to be the starters. Smith has performed well this summer and appears in line for a big role as a rookie. Blackwell makes the team due to his nickel experience and Jones has outperformed the veteran options.

Safety (4)

IN: Jaquan Brisker, Eddie Jackson, Elijah Hicks, AJ Thomas

OUT:  Bralen Trahan**, Kendall Williamson*

The skinny: Brisker and Jackson are the unquestioned starters and are one of the better safety pairings. Thomas led the team in tackles against Buffalo which should be enough to give him the nod over the rookies Williamson and Trahan.

Special Teams (3)

IN: Trenton Gill (P), Cairo Santos (K), Patrick Scales (LS)

OUT: None

The skinny: This group is set and ready to go.
