Sometimes good news comes when you need it most and that’s what just happened for the Cleveland Browns.

Kevin Stefanski said on Sunday that WR Marquise Goodwin will be coming off of the non-football injury list and will be activated. Goodwin has been out all of training camp after a checkup revealed that he had blood clots.

This couldn’t come at a better time, as the Browns could use Goodwin with Jakeem Grant Sr. set to miss the entire season. On his very first play with the Browns yesterday, Grant ruptured his patella tendon and will be sidelined indefinitely. It’s very unfortunate for a player who missed the entirety of the previous year with a ruptured Achilles.

Goodwin brings speed to the Browns, which they could find a use for. When looking at the 53-man roster, Goodwin will undoubtedly be there. The veteran wide receiver signed with the Browns this past offseason and should get some opportunities with the offense.

With Anthony Schwartz likely to be cut, it makes it that much more important that Goodwin is joining the team again. Over the last few weeks, Goodwin has been on bikes to the side and doing other light work.

Not only for the football side, but it’s great to hear that Goodwin is healthy overall and that he was able to get past the blood clots with no serious issues.
