Once a Raider, always a Raider, is how the old saying goes. And that rings true, as the Las Vegas Raiders brotherhood is one of the realest in professional sports. Everyone that once played for the team roots for them now and even watches and has a close relationship with a lot of the players.
One of the close relationships is between Maxx Crosby and a former player.
"There's only one Richie Incognito," Maxx Crosby said when asked about similarities between Incognito and Greg van Roten.
And Crosby is right. Incognito was a fiery guy on the offensive line. He didn't care who was across from him; he was going to get ugly, physical and do anything he could to win his matchup. And man, he hated losing.
That's very similar to Crosby.
"There's only one Mad Maxx," said Incognito. "You watch him go out there and play with that effort and that passion. There are very few guys out there that can go out there and transcend the game and transcend everything that we have to deal with to go out there and put on a performance like that. So, I love watching Maxx because I play with passion, and Maxx plays with a tremendous amount of passion and effort, and it's great to see."
Incognito joined the Raiders in 2020. So, he has seen one of the best defensive ends in the game up close and from afar. He is a fan, and it's fair to say Incognito is right too.
Incognito was at the game on Sunday to support the Raiders in their first preseason game. Raiders, former or current, will always have each other's back and support one another, just like we saw from these two.
